Country updates

Capital names in Bahrain & Kuwait updated

Manama and Kuwait City don't match their countries' official administrative divisions. They span multiple areas with different names.

This meant these capital names were missing from our standard ZIP code database.

We've now added these commonly used capital names to our cities.

The original area names remain available as alternative names (Kuwait) and suburbs (Bahrain).

The longest coastline in the world

Canada has the longest coastline of any country, spanning over 243,000 km. That's longer than Indonesia, Australia, or any island nation you can think of.

It comes down to Canada's wild geography.

The country touches three different oceans, has more than 52,000 islands scattered around its edges, and countless bays and inlets that snake inland for miles.

The exact coastline measurement varies according to the Coastline Paradox; the more detailed you get, the longer the measurement becomes.
